Mt Vernon - main

On December 11, 2013, Le Pain Quotidien opened its 15th store in the Mount Vernon Square neighborhood of DC.

Located in the vibrant Mount Vernon Square neighborhood, LPQ Mount Vernon Triangle is situated in a renovated Victorian on the Massachusetts Avenue corridor. This cozy two-story building has recently seen a full revitalization of the surrounding neighborhood. While new residential and commercial developments continued to rise around it, the building’s original owner continually turned down offers from developers. Because of this, our newest Le Pain Quotidien now stands nestled between new high-rise office and luxury buildings, acting as a reminder of the neighborhood’s history.

In typical Le Pain Quotidien fashion, our newest shop is full of original and rustic detail. With a repointed brick façade on the exterior, our interior features a distinctive herringbone pattern on the floor entryway, which continues on the risers and up the stairs. Along the staircase, guests will notice a triangular wood panel, its pattern designed with the libraries and meeting rooms of historic DC in mind. On the second level is another seating area, as well as access to our soon-to-come roof deck! With so many offices and residences nearby, we are the perfect location to pick up a nourishing breakfast on the way to work or to recharge in the middle of the day.
