On November 1st, LPQ Australia proudly opened its 4th location in Sydney.

Framed by the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, and our newest store is nestled on the edge of breathtaking Sydney Harbour, in The Rocks neighborhood. From cobblestoned laneways and heritage architecture to stylish modern bars and some of Sydney’s finest restaurants and places to shop, this area offers an unrivaled blend of the old and new. Transformed into a creative nucleus of contemporary art, festivals and evolving pop-up spaces, The Rocks is emerging as Sydney’s new cultural precinct.

The space that houses our new store was built in the early 1880’s, serving as a police station until 1974. The NSW Police were present for more than 90 years in the building. For the next 35 years, the building was occupied by various pop-up tenants, punctuated by long periods of vacancy and restoration, with the building remaining unoccupied until the present day. With our store now open, this is the first time in almost 40 years that the building will be fully functional and accessible to the general public.

Completely restored, the space now offers an elegant new dining room and entry on the building’s frontage. The former exercise yard has been adapted into our kitchen, and over 100 seats are now located throughout  the restaurant in the former holding cells, charge rooms, muster room and the old officers’ quarters upstairs. Design elements including brass, copper, glass and black painted steel re-engage with The Rocks in a way quite different from its’ original intent.  It is important to us to respect the history of our sites, therefore we are very excited to introduce this amazing building into the modern day.
