Which is the best way to store our bread?
The best way to store naturally leavened bread is to put it in a bread bin, paper bag or leave it on the cutting board, cut side down with a paper bag over it. A loaf of bread will last a lot longer if you just cut slices when you need. Never store bread in the fridge as that speeds up the stalling process.
Can I freeze my bread?
Le Pain Quotidien bread can be frozen for up to 3 months. Wrap the loaf tightly in plastic wrap, foil or in a freezer bag. After it has defrosted heat in a very hot oven for 5 minutes to crisp the crust again.
Tell me about your sourdough.
With the exception of the baguette and flute, all our breads are sourdough. The term sourdough means naturally fermented. (for further information please see the bread section)
Tell me about your coffee.
The Coffee is from Peru, and has fair trade and organic certification. Also a donation from each kilo we buy goes directly towards saving the Amazon rainforest.
